Contract talks will resume soon between the Société de transport de l’Outaouais and its 600 unionized drivers and mechanics, the company has announced.

The announcement on the company’s web page Friday evening came after meeting with union leadership.

The company did not issue a specific timeline.

The workers implemented work-to-rule pressure tactics Friday such as sending buses to the garage for even minor issues, refusal to work overtime or on special events such as Winterlude.

These actions are expected to continue after talks resume.

The union says scheduling issues and deteriorating working conditions are in dispute.

The Canada Industrial Relations Board has ruled that the STO does not constitute an essential service, paving the way for a possible strike.
