Ottawa’s sport community will deliver the Ottawa 2021 Canada Summer Games bid book to the office of the Canada Games Council following a relay that will start at City Hall.
Mayor Jim Watson and Ottawa 2021 Canada Summer Games Bid Committee Co-chairs Cyril Leeder and Sue Holloway will host the relay kickoff at City Hall. The bid book will be transferred from one sport group to another on the five-kilometre route along the Queen Elizabeth Driveway to Bank Street, before ending with the formal submission of the book to the Canada Games Council.
Date: Tuesday, January 31
Time: 11:50 a.m.
Kickoff: Ottawa City Hall, Marion Dewar Plaza (north-east of Sens Rink of Dreams)
Drop off: Canada Games Council, 2197 Riverside Drive
Paid parking: Available at City Hall or on surrounding streets.
Attire: This event will be outdoors. Weather appropriate attire is recommended.
In case of inclement weather, the kickoff will take place indoors in Jean Pigott Place.
