Water spilled across the floors on more than one level of the Hull Hospital, and late Thursday morning the hospital was still working out the extent of the problem.
The source is a broken water pipe on the fourth floor of the east wing, hospital officials said.
They said it has resulted in “significant” water damage.
The hospital has given no information so far on what effect this is having on patients, although there were no reports of evacuation.
