Their rides held together by a little bit of tape and a whole lot of wishful thinking, children and their parents gathered at the top of a Camp Fortune hill on Saturday for the Cardboard Sled Derby.

The fact the rules dictated that the sleds could only be made with tape, string, garbage bags, glue and cardboard resulted in a wide variety of downhill rides.

And there were just as many wide smiles and laughs as young pilots navigated their sleds down the slope, attempting to collect prizes for everything from fastest sled to best crash to best overall sled and longest run.
