The Ottawa Police Service is asking for the public’s help to identify a man who is believed to have been involved in a stabbing on Rideau Street on Saturday.
According to police, a 17-year-old man was stabbed in the throat while walking along Rideau Street around 3:45 pm. The assailant then fled on foot, running west.
The assailant is described as a black male, who was last seen wearing a grey sweater with a hood and a black vest. He was also wearing blue or grey pants, bright blue Adidas branded running shoes, tinted glasses and he had a goatee.
The victim of the stabbing is in serious but stable condition.
Anyone with information about the event is asked to call Ottawa Police at 613-236-1222, ext. 5166. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
