That didn’t take long.
With some snow still on the ground, a line of thunderstorms are on the way, likely to hit later in the day.
(We had first thought it would be the first thunderstorm of the year, but as commenters pointed out, we did have a strange one that popped up in February.)
A special weather statement from Environment Canada said a “line of thunderstorms will race northeastward across Eastern Ontario late this afternoon and early this evening.”
Some of the thunderstorms may produce wind gusts to 80 km/h, pea to marble sized hail and frequent lightning, the agency said. Take shelter when you see them approaching.
The thunderstorms are expected to weaken as they move out of the region tonight.
