That’s what happened to a 62-year-old Pontiac man after witnesses called police to report that he was sitting on the hood of his car and waving at passersby while swigging from a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey.
When an MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais officer arrived at the scene on Chemin de la Rivière in La Pêche Monday afternoon, the man had driven away.
The man had nearly made it home when the officer caught up to him and made an arrest at about 5:45 p.m.
He failed a roadside test and was found to be over the legal limit of 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
The man was charged, had his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded.
