For the sixth consecutive year, the City of Ottawa has been named one of the National Capital Region’s Top Employers, in a competition that recognizes the employers in the Ottawa-Gatineau metropolitan area that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
The winners were selected by editors at Mediacorp and are featured in a special section of today’s Ottawa Citizen. Here are some of the reasons why the City of Ottawa was selected by the competition judges:

- The City of Ottawa supports employees who are new mothers, fathers or adoptive parents with maternity and parental leave top-up payments and offers the convenience of onsite daycare when they are ready to return to work;
- To celebrate the achievements of its workforce, the City of Ottawa hosts a number of recognition ceremonies each year, including the City Manager's Award, Lifetime Achievement Awards, Environmental Excellence Awards, Diversity and Inclusion Awards and long service awards, to name a few; and
- The City helps employees balance their work and personal lives through a variety of alternative work arrangements and maintains a workplace wellness and productivity network to provide employees with access to resources on physical, mental and emotional health and well-being.
