The forecast is for a wet evening but there’s a ray of hope for the trip home from work.
The barricades were still up Thursday morning at the Hog’s Back Bridge, which has been closed for repairs, but it is scheduled to reopen after more than two weeks of traffic snarls.
The bridge closure started on April 5, preventing cars, cyclists and pedestrians from crossing the Rideau Canal and the Rideau River. It was supposed to reopen April 13 but was extended due to “unforeseen maintenance issues.”
While the roads are forecast to clear up, expect overcast skies Thursday.
Environment Canada predicts clouds and a high of 9 C.
Periods of rain are forecast for early evening changing to drizzle by morning with a total amount of 15 to 25 mm and low of 6 C.

The drizzle is expected to end Friday morning but it’s forecast to stay cloudy with 30-per-cent chance of showers, a high of 14 C and low of 6 C.
Saturday’s forecast is pure sunshine and 13 C.
Sunday is set for a mix of sun and cloud with 40-per-cent chance of showers and a high of 18 C.
A mix of sun and cloud and daytime highs of 10-12 C are on tap for early next week.
