A 28-year-old man has been charged with pointing a firearm and uttering threats during an early-morning confrontation near the ByWard Market on Tuesday.
Police were called after a man was seen pointing a firearm at another man near the 100 block of Rideau Street, in between Sussex Drive and Dalhousie Street, around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. The man was arrested a few blocks from where the incident occurred, and a firearm matching the description in the complaint was seized.
Clayton Grichen is also charged with carrying a concealed weapon — a firearm and a knife — and failure to comply with a probation order.
Grichen appeared in show cause court Tuesday morning.
