The Superdome at Ben Franklin Park is expected to open by Friday, according to TMSI Sports Management, which runs the facility.
On its Twitter feed Monday morning, TMSI said repair crews were able to re-inflate the dome on Sunday. The dome collapsed suddenly about three weeks ago, and crews have been scrambling to determine the cause so the facility can resume normal operations.
TMSI didn’t disclose the cause of the dome’s deflation, but said crews were working inside to ensure lighting, electrical and other aspects of the structure are safe.
The re-opening is scheduled for Friday, but the company said the opening could come sooner if workers inspecting the dome’s interior believe it is safe and ready to return to its normal operating state.
