Mayor Jim Watson, Councillor Shad Qadri, Chair of the Ottawa Board of Health, and Dr. Isra Levy, Medical Officer of Health, will unveil the new have THAT talk video series on mental health.

In addition, Mary Deacon, Chair of the Bell Let’s Talk mental health initiative; Dr. Ian Colman, Canada Research Chair in Mental Health Epidemiology, University of Ottawa; Dr. Ian Manion, Director, Youth Mental Health Research Unit at Institute of Mental Health Research at the Royal; and Dr. Azaad Kassam, Psychiatrist, Queensway-Carleton Hospital will participate in an expert panel discussion on mental health.

The videos will provide residents with helpful tools and information about how to talk about mental health, how to reduce stigma, how to build resilience and social connections and also how to take care of yourself if you are caring for someone with a mental illness. The videos are evidence based and were developed with 15 local and national partners in the mental health field as well as those with lived experience.

Event participants will be available for a photo opportunity before the event, and available to the media following the have THAT talk video release and panel discussion.
