It’s times like this that some of us wish we were in the business of fake news.

But there’s no way to put a sunny, warm face on the scene outside your window.

So here it is, straight: Cloudy on Wednesday and chilly, with a 30-per-cent chance of showers Wednesday morning.

The weather office expects some clearing Wednesday afternoon, with gusty winds and a high of 13 C.

Wednesday night is expected to be clearing, with a low of 1 C.

The only good news is contained in yet another “Special Weather Statement” from Environment Canada saying that the rain is expected to back off slightly for 36-48 hours, before returning for the weekend.

Thursday should see increased cloud in the morning, with a high of 14, gradually getting more cloudy through the evening with a 60-per-cent chance of showers and a low of 5 C.

Friday brings periods of rain and a high of 9 C and overnight low of 6.

So far, the weekend weather looks miserable, cloudy with a strong chance of showers both Saturday and Sunday. The high Saturday is expected to be 13, dropping to a low of 4, while Sunday should be a chilly high of just 7 C and a low of 2 C heading into Monday.
