Although flood levels continue to drop, the city of Ottawa has asked pleasure boaters to continue to treat the shoreline areas of the Ottawa River as no-wake zones for the time being.
Even small waves can breach sandbag walls and create further damages to property in flooded areas.
In particular, the city urged all craft to stay away from Fitzroy Harbour, Constance Bay, Armitage, Crystal Bay, Britannia, and Cumberland areas.
The city also warned that flood-borne debris can pose a hazard to boaters.
Similar cautions are in effect on the Gatineau side of the river.
