Summer is (suddenly) here.

Wednesday’s forecast is for a high of 29 C with a Humidex of 34 and UV index of 8 or very high.

Environment Canada predicts clouds will roll in overnight, with a balmy low of 19 C, bringing mainly overcast skies and a 60-per-cent chance of late afternoon showers or thunderstorms Thursday afternoon.

Thursday’s forecast high is 28 C with a Humidex of 33.

The sun is back for Friday and Saturday with highs of 18 C.

Sunday is forecast to be cloudy with a 60-per-cent chance of showers, high of 18 C and low of 13 C.

Victoria Day Monday is expected to be cloudy with a 30-per-cent chance of showers – let’s think of it as a 70-per-cent chance of no rain – and a high of 19 C.

It’s a great day for a bike ride and the National Capital Commission reports that the full length of the Rideau River Eastern Pathway is now open.

Other pathways are still flooded, though, so respect barriers, the commission warns.
