The Ottawa Police Service said an incident in which a man fell from a balcony in downtown Ottawa on Monday night is now being investigated as a homicide.
Police said calls were received around 10:50 p.m. reporting a man was suffering from severe injuries after falling from a high-rise building around 400 MacLaren Street.
Upon arriving at the scene police found a man lying on the ground. The man later died from his injuries.
Police have identified the victim Ahmad Afrah, 19, of Ottawa.
“The death has been deemed suspicious and major crime (squad) is investigating the homcide,” police said in a news release.
