OPP officers in Rideau Lakes say they nabbed a driver for allegedly driving drunk because his passenger was setting off fireworks from the moving pick-up truck.
It happened around 8:45 a.m. on May 27 when officers on patrol on Highway 15 in Portland spotted a “succession” of fireworks coming from a northbound truck.
They pulled the vehicle over and arrested the driver for driving with over the legal limit of alcohol in his blood and driving while under suspension.
William Ubdegrove, 25, will appear in court in Brockville June 23.
The 23-year-old passenger, meanwhile, is facing charges under the Environmental Protection Act for setting off the fireworks.
