A 58-year-old man was in critical condition on Wednesday after suffering a head injury in a fall down a series of stairs at 1000 Wellington St. W.
Ottawa paramedics, fire and police were called just after 3 p.m.
The man was found unconscious by paramedics, and in order to stabilize his condition they had to force his locked jaw open through aggressive airway management.
He was taken to The Ottawa Hospital trauma centre.
