A rooftop blaze at the McNabb Community Centre in Chinatown was quickly brought under control by Ottawa firefighters Saturday afternoon.
A worker phoned Ottawa Fire Services around 12:20 p.m. to report a fire at the centre on 160 Percy St.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and confirmed a small blaze on the roof of the two-storey building, from which occupants had evacuated. The fire was brought until control at 12:50 p.m. No one was injured as a result.
The blaze did not reach inside the building, said fire officials. Damage is estimated at $20,000.
