Ottawa police are asking for the public’s help to identify a woman who allegedly stole $4,000 in donations from the Autism Speaks Canada walk on Sunday.
According to the charity the woman was working as a volunteer at the event, which was held at the Bell Sensplex in Kanata. The event is labelled as the “single most important fundraiser” for Autism Speaks Canada, to support research, services, advocacy and awareness as it relates to autism.
Few details are being shared about how the fund were stolen.
However, the charity has partnered with Ottawa police to spread the message about the incident of hopes of identifying the suspect.
Anyone who has information is asked to call Ottawa police at 613-236-1222, ext. 2643 or Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
