The phones are ringing for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario this weekend as the hospital holds its annual telethon.
The telethon, which is broadcast Saturday, June 10th from 7 p.m. to Sunday, June 11th at 7 pm, raises funds CHEO.
Proceeds will help the hospital purchase specialized medical equipment, make renovations to the hospital and conduct “life-saving research” in areas such as cancer, youth mental health and childhood obesity, along with buying games, toys and crafts to improve children’s time at CHEO, according to a media release.
The 24-hour broadcast on CTV features CHEO patient stories, staff and patient interviews, visits with CHEO supporters and volunteers, local celebrities and cheque presentations by donors, companies and community event organizers.
During the Telethon viewers can pledge their support by calling (613) 738-1450 or by going online at www.cheofoundation.com. A live webcast of the telethon will be available on the CHEO Foundation website.
