A gas leak at a downtown building housing two bars and a restaurant has forced the evacuation of at least four employees while emergency responders await the arrival of experts from Enbridge Gas.

The building at 340 Queen St., which houses Barbarella’s, Dana’s Indian Cuisine and the Glue Pot Pub, was emptied as a precaution around 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police have been notified of the leak, however there are no street closures as of yet.

That could change once Enbridge arrives and establishes the source of the leak.

On May 2, emergency responders cleared buildings in a four-block radius of a construction site near Queen and Metcalfe when a natural gas line broke. It took almost three hours for the gas to be turned off.

Crews have only indicated 3-5 people evacuated fr 340 Queen St. Enbridge is on scene. No indications further evacuations will be required
