Police found blood at the scene after neighbours heard multiple gunshots at an intersection off Main Street in the early hours of Wednesday.
Police were called to the intersection of Rosemere and Springhurst avenues in Old Ottawa East at about 1 a.m. and found the blood and damage to a number of vehicles.
There may be damage to homes.
The intersection is near Main Street and Lees Avenue and Immaculata High School and Lady Evelyn Alternative School.
Investigators have also seized a black SUV that was found parked at the General campus of the Ottawa Hospital, which has been towed to a police garage.
