The Ottawa Senators will open the pre-season with a Battle of Ontario.
If the Senators want to get a good idea of where they stand going into next season, there’s no better measuring stick than a home-and-home series against the arch-rival Toronto Maple Leafs to open the exhibition schedule.
The club will play two exhibition games at the Canadian Tire Centre while they’ll play a home game in O’Leary, P.E.I. against the New Jersey Devils on Sept. 25 as part of the Kraft Hockeyville celebrations.
The Senators released their six-game pre-season games Friday. Here’s what it looks like:

Monday, Sept. 18: Toronto at Ottawa, 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 19: Ottawa at Toronto, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 23: Montreal at Ottawa, 7 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 25: New Jersey vs. Ottawa (at O’Leary, P.E.I.), 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 27: Ottawa at Winnipeg, 8 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 30: Ottawa at Montreal, 7 p.m.
