Teenage cyclist suffers broken leg in collision with dump truck at west end intersection

A teenage girl was seriously injured Tuesday morning when her bike collided with a slow-moving dump truck at the intersection of Richmond Road and Poulin Avenue.

Paramedics responded to the scene around 8:25 a.m. to find the girl on the ground in serious condition.

She was conscious when they arrived and was responding to their questions.

The girl was taken to Ottawa hospital in stable condition.


At 8:25 we responded to Poulin and Richmond for teenage cyclist with fractured femur after collision with dump truck. Stable condition.

Emergency responders said the dump truck was not moving very fast when it struck the girl’s bike.

Ottawa police have taken over the scene of the incident.

The investigation continues.
