It will be another busy weekend in Ottawa with special events and activities that will impact traffic in different areas of the city. A full list of impacts can be found on the traffic report on the City’s website.
Some of the special events and activities happening this weekend include:
Ticket holders to all three events are encouraged to use transit, cycle or walk to get to the site. Parking at and around Lansdowne will be limited. Tickets can be used to ride free on OC Transpo three hours before and up to three hours after the event. OC Transpo bus routes 1 and 7 will get customers to Lansdowne this weekend, but on Sunday, June 25 summer service takes effect and bus Route 1 will be renumbered to Route 6, continuing to serve Lansdowne. On Friday, customers going to the REDBLACKS game can also ride OC Transpo’s Event Routes 450, 451, 452, 454, 455 and 456.

- A number of events taking place at Lansdowne:
- On Friday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m., the Ottawa REDBLACKS will host the Calgary Stampeders at TD Place Stadium.
- Saturday and Sunday will see the Heineken Escapade Music Festival at Lansdowne.
- On Saturday at 2 p.m., the Ottawa Fury will play against the New York Red Bulls at TD Place Stadium.

- The Mooney’s Bay area will see heavier than normal traffic this weekend, June 23 to 25, as a result of the Dragon Boat Festival happening at Mooney’s Bay Park and the Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival taking place at Vincent Massey Park. Motorists are reminded that parking restrictions will be in effect around both events and that these restrictions will be enforced.
- The Canadian Road Cycling Championships are taking place in Ottawa and its course will impact the Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway and Tunney’s Pasture area, including Parkdale Avenue from Burnside Avenue to the Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway, on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 5:30 p.m. A list of all roads affected can be found on the City’s traffic report.
- As a result of the Festival de la St-Jean à Ottawa, Clarence Street will be closed from Dalhousie Street to William Street from Thursday, June 22 at 6 p.m. to Saturday, June 24 at 6 a.m. The westbound lane of Clarence Street will also be closed between William Street and Parent Street, during the same period of time.
- The annual CHEO Teddy Bears’ Picnic will take place this Saturday, June 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the grounds of Rideau Hall. Motorists can expect some delays around the area.
- The Ottawa Jazz Festival kicks off June 22 until July 2. With venues around Confederation Park, motorists may experience delays in the area.
- As part of NOKIA Sunday Bike Days, the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, Colonel By Drive and Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway will be closed to motorists this Sunday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
