There was at least one driver perhaps close to filling his pants on Highway 417 Wednesday afternoon, just before the afternoon rush hour, when the flat-bed truck he was driving dumped its load on the eastbound lanes near Moodie Drive.
The lost cargo consisted of three porta-potties that finally came to rest on the bus lane shoulder, according to OPP officials, having little impact on the traffic flow.
Fortunately, no one was hurt by the spill. Even better news for environmentalists and others was that the proverbial fan remained stain-free as the offending outhouses were the rarest kind of all – clean ones – at the time of the mishap.
The driver, however, 43-year-old Roy Swaby, was charged with having an insecure load contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
