Provincial police are warning drivers to avoid Highway 7 near Perth following a serious collision early Wednesday.
One person was seriously injured in the crash, which occurred at about 6:40 a.m. Perth is about 90 kilometres south of Ottawa.
Westbound traffic is diverted to Drummond Concession 7 and then south on Highway 511, while eastbound vehicles are to be diverted north on Highway 511 and then Drummond Concession 7.
Delays are expected as specialized collision investigators are en route to the scene.
Meanwhile, traffic was also disrupted at Earl Armstrong and Bowesville roads Wednesday morning following a dramatic collision between a car and a backhoe.
The driver of the car was injured but did not require hospitalization.
Police remind drivers to slow down for construction work.
