To mark the 150th birthday of Confederation, we asked local residents from a variety of backgrounds to share their wishes for the future of the capital and the country. Today: Roseann O’Reilly Runte.
Canada is known today for the beauty of the natural landscape, our culture of respectful inclusivity and for the natural resources we export. My wish for the future is that our country will be recognized more as the generator of brilliant ideas, innovative processes, bold enterprises and important discoveries that will contribute to a better and more sustainable future. Canada will be the Ideas Greenhouse of the world and Ottawa, its Bright Capital.
