Two men were walking on a rail bridge in South Glengarry about 100 km southeast of Ottawa Monday evening when they were struck by a Via Rail train, the OPP reports.
One South Glengarry man was declared dead at the scene near Celtic Lane soon after the 7:50 p.m. collision.
A second was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators with Stormont Dundas and Glengarry OPP are not identifying the dead man until his family has been notified.
The railway line reopened at about 10:30 p.m.
