A 58-year-old local man who allegedly used a weapon most convenient to him at the time, his teeth, was arrested by Kingston Police on Saturday after biting a pedestrian who yelled at him in an apparent road rage incident.

Around 2:30 p.m. officers responded to the area of Johnson Street and King Street regarding the incident. Officers learned the victim had tried to cross the road when the accused allegedly ran a red light in his vehicle. The victim yelled at the driver about the infraction at which point the man got out of his vehicle and called the victim on to fight where he then lunged at the victim and bit his nose. The accused jumped back in his vehicle and left the area.

On Monday evening at approximately 6:45 p.m. the accused turned himself in at police headquarters. He was arrested and later released on conditions with a future court date.

The man was charged with assault.
