Ottawa paramedics had a hectic Saturday afternoon in the downtown core, attending to one car crash and a separate car-pedestrian collision within six minutes of each other.

The first incident happened at 12:30 p.m., when a man experiencing a “medical incident” crashed his car into a flower pot in front of 620 King Edward Ave., near the University of Ottawa, according to paramedic Supt. François Côté.

The man, 36, was the only one injured in the crash. He was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Six minutes later, a car and pedestrian collided on Sussex Drive and Murray Street, close to the Earl of Sussex Pub. The female pedestrian, 22, suffered head, face and leg injuries, and was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Paramedics had no other details to offer about the crash.
