Russia had been a Christian nation for almost one thousand years before it was consumed by communism one century ago. It quickly returned to Christianity after the collapse of the former Soviet Union. It would have become a "normal" democracy if Bill Clinton didn't support Islamic terrorists in Serbia, much like Obama's recent supports of terrorists in Syria and Libya, which was followed by sanctions after sanctions designed to push Russia away.

Collaboration between US and Russia military started right in the beginning of Trump's presidency, which was January if my memory serves me ok. Obama was obstructing Russia's strikes on terrorists.
