Police closed boat access on the Rideau River between Hunt Club Road and Hog’s Back Tuesday afternoon as they investigate a possible drowning.
Ottawa police said the operation began following calls reporting a swimmer was “in distress.”

Police set up a command post on Prince of Wales Drive south of Hunt Club Road.
Ottawa Paramedic Services were also on the scene.

Ottawa fire rescue boats searched an area above and below a railroad bridge in the area with no success.
