Seven people — four children and three adults — were injured Tuesday evening when a car and minivan collided at the intersection of Panmure and Upper Dwyer Hill roads in Ottawa’s rural west end.
Paramedics from Renfrew and Lanark counties and Ottawa, along with an Ornge air ambulance, responded to the call, which came in at 6:22 p.m.
Ottawa paramedics said four children were taken to the pediatric trauma unit at CHEO. One of the children was taken by the air ambulance.
Paramedics say one adult was taken to The Ottawa Hospital trauma unit in “s serious but stable condition.
Two other adults, a man and a woman, were taken to other hospitals.
As part of a pilot project, Renfrew County paramedics used a pre-hospital ultrasound to examine patients for life- threatening internal bleeding.
