One person is dead after two-vehicle crash on Highway 7 east of Sharbot Lake on Monday afternoon.
Ontario Provincial Police from the Lanark County detachment in Perth said they were called to the scene just west of Silver Lake Provincial Park at 4:26 p.m. The scene is about 110 km southwest of Ottawa.
One driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital in Kingston with serious injuries, police said.
Traffic in both directions has been rerouted from highway via Zealand Road and Maberly-Elphine Road.
Police said the detour was expected to remain in place until at least 11 p.m. while the investigation into the crash continues.
