Two teenage males were injured over the long weekend after their Sea-Doos collided while wave jumping in Big Rideau Lake near Portland, about 100 kilometres southwest of Ottawa.
Rideau Lakes Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to the scene around 3:10 p.m. on Sunday. An investigation revealed that two 19-year-old males had crashed their Sea-Doos into each other while wave jumping.
Both were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
OPP are investigating.
“The rules that apply on our roads, also apply on the water,” said OPP Insp. Mile Francis in a release. “Keep a safe distance! Avoid wake jumping, splashing and passing close to any other vessels.”
