Nicholas Street between Laurier Avenue and Highway 417 was snarled Thursday morning after a two-car rear-end crash that sent a woman to the hospital with potentially-serious injuries and had OC Transpo warning of “major delays.”

The crash was cleared before 8 a.m. but was still “a zoo,” a motorist reported soon after.

Paramedics were called to the area shortly before 7 a.m.

One patient, a woman, reported serious pain and was taken to the trauma centre suffering from possible internal bleeding.

A second person was taken to hospital with minor injuries. A third was treated and released from the scene.

Traffic was still slow at about 9 a.m.

Avoid Nicholas westbound ! It's a zoo and only getting worst. #Ottawa #otttraffic #traffic #417 #queenswaywest
