Police are searching for a 53-year-old man who went missing in Carleton Place early Sunday morning.

Lanark OPP said a canine unit and officers from the emergency response team were called in to help search for Detlef Dunn, who was last seen around 2 a.m. in the area of Julian Street in the town 50 kilometres southwest of Ottawa.

Dunn, who is believed to be on foot, is described as 5-foot-7 and 177 pounds with a medium build, blue eyes and blond hair. A photo wasn’t available.

Anyone who has seen or contacted Dunn since his last known sighting is asked to call the Lanark County detachment of the OPP using the force’s non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122.
