If you are attending the Guns ‘n Roses concert, remember your ticket gets you free admission on OC Transpo from three hours before until six hours after the concert. But, there’s more than GnR happening at Ottawa facilities this week.
What’s Happening Ottawa provides the latest on theatre, music and outings for the entire family. Some shows sell out quickly, so be sure to look ahead at what’s happening in the coming weeks and get your tickets early. Here is a list of some of the things happening at City facilities this week.
Remember there are great programs at City museums, at recreation centres and free activities at City Hall all summer long.
Archaeology month
Jean Pigott Place
August 1 to 31
Produced in partnership with the Cultural Education Centre at Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation, the exhibit presents pre-contact and historical archaeology related to Ottawa including artefacts uncovered and preserved during the LeBreton Flats redevelopment project

Through variety numbers, stand-up comedy routines and impersonations, the couple explores topics that affect all Quebec couples, including work-life balance, social network addiction, Quebec’s “wussification,” sex, friendship in your forties and many more.

Join the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group, whose members will be displaying their prized possessions for the day. Work up an appetite by taking a tour of the museum and checking out the specs before enjoying a BBQ lunch.

Get your rock on! But make no illusions, the best way to get there is by bus. Your ticket to the show is also your ticket to ride. Ride any OC Transpo or STO bus to the event. Your bus fare is already paid - just show your printed event ticket or e-ticket to the operator. And don’t forget to keep your ticket for the ride home! The free ride is valid three hours before the concert and up to 6 hours after the start of the event. The show starts at 6:25 p.m. Our Leady Peace gets things started.
