After school programs are available for children ages 6 to 12 at City recreation facilities throughout Ottawa. Children from all school boards are eligible.
1. Affordable
We know that after school programs offered by the City of Ottawa are way less expensive than most other child care programs. We offer high quality programs by trained, caring staff in top-notch, safe facilities at a cost that is a better fit with your budget.
2. Great facilities and activities
Your child’s time with us will be taken up with games, sports, arts and crafts. Many of our programs are offered in recreation centres and community centres in your neighbourhood and close to schools. We play indoors and out depending on the weather and activities are age appropriate.
3. Save time
Because so many of our programs are in recreation complexes, you may be able to combine your after-school pick-up routine with your after-school activity. No more rushing from school to hockey practice. You’re already there.
4. Treat yourself
Did we mention that many of our programs are in recreation complexes? You may be able to combine your pick-up routine with a trip to the gym or the pool for yourself. Again, no extra trips. You’re already there!
5. Trained staff
All of our staff are well trained in leading activities, child development, and ensuring children are active, engaged and safe. The City of Ottawa is an accredited HIGH FIVE® organization by Parks and Recreation Ontario.
