A man believed to be in his 30s was pulled unconscious from the Ottawa River on Tuesday after his canoe capsized near Kitchissippi Lookout.
The Ottawa Fire Services water rescue unit received a 911 report at 6:37 p.m. that a person had been seen in a green canoe that flipped over in the water.
The man was brought ashore where paramedics began “aggressive” resuscitation and took him to hospital, where he was reported in critical condition.
