A 28-year-old man originally from Cape Dorset, Nunavut is recovering from head injuries after an alleged assault under the Mackenzie King bridge by the Rideau Centre last Thursday morning.
“There was an altercation between the two and as a result, he suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital. He was part of the homeless community,” said Const. Marc Soucy on Wednesday, who could not say how long the man had been in Ottawa.
A 32-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
He made his first appearance in court at an unspecified date.
