The forecast is a little gloomy but Sunday Sept. 3 marks the last day this year of Nokia Bike Days on the region’s parkways.
If you’re not worried about a little rain, large portions of six of the parkways under the management of the National Capital Commission will be shut to cars and wide open for cyclists.
The courses in Ottawa open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. are:
Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway (nine kilometres)
Colonel By Drive (eight kilometres)
Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway (eight kilometres).
In Gatineau from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., 27 kilometres of roadway are open along:
Gatineau Parkway
Champlain Parkway
Fortune Lake Parkway
