根据新移民法,加拿大移民局要求提供语言评估(IELTS/CELPIP)

我是一名在校研究生,提交移民申请后,移民局通知我提供由指定机构提供语言评估(IELTS/CELPIP),或者提供其他书面证明证明我的英语熟练性.请问哪位兄弟姐妹遇到过类似的情况?大家怎么处理的?谢谢!

最简单的办法是去考试.

You don't necessarily have to go through all those language tests. It'll be helpful if you have TA or RA experience at school. Then go ask your prof a favour for a reference letter, stating your proficiency in English. Also write a statement by yourself as well indicating your English level. I'm not sure if you have to go for an interview. If so, the immigration officer might ask you why you haven't taken the test. Just tell him/her you've already been here for some time, you have TA experience, you do tutorials, you hold office hours, you don't see any problem communicating with people, bla bla... Then it'll be fine.

不客气。是的，我面试了，过程很简单，大概七八分钟就签字出来了。面试排期长短因人而异，再加上现在新法出台，很难讲，我知道的人中有等两年多还没等到面试具体时间的；也有人不需面试，半年就拿到的。以我的个人经验来说，我写了几封信询问催促审查情况，不知这是否有益于加速审理过程，总之试试无妨。
