Traffic officers on both side of the river continue heir back-to-school watch, but it would appear drivers are slow learners.
More than two dozen tickets for excessive speed in school zones were handed out across the region Wednesday.
In Gatineau, the worst appeared to be a 63-year-old man who blew through a 30 km/h zone at 78 km/h.
The man was fined $662 and 10 demerit points and his license was suspended for a week pending further legal proceedings.
In Ottawa an early winner appeared to be a driver who was caught doing 80 km/h in a 40km/h zone.
