Prices at the pump are definitely trickling down – and it’s not because of the post-hurricane clean ups south of the border.

Petroleum industry analyst Dan McTeague of gasbuddy.com had warned motorists not to fill up Tuesday because a five cent a litre price drop was on the way Wednesday with the seasonal shift to cheaper “winter spec” gas.

He predicted, however, a rise of a penny a litre on Thursday.

On Wednesday morning, Ottawa gas prices ranged from a low of 111.3 cents a litre to a high of 120.9 cents, according to motorists’ reports to ottawagasprices.com.

The local average, at 116.4 cents a litre, was falling and below the Ontario and national averages at 118.99 cents and 117.08 cents respectively.
