Scope
Responsible to the Food Service Manager/Supervisor for the proper service of meals and snacks to residents in accordance with established procedures and standards
Statement of Qualifications
Grade 10
A minimum of one year’s experience in food service
Completion of health and safety training required by legislation and by the Corporation of the city of Ottawa
・The ‘Sanitation Code’ for Canada Food Service Industry, Canada Food Guide
・Working knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation
・General knowledge of corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to health and safety
Competencies/Skills
・Take directions, learn procedures, perform routine duties
・Work effectively with others
・Work early and late shifts, including weekends
・Lift safely
・Alert, dependable, reliable and tactful
・Good health
・Able to work under pressure
・Successful completion of the Food Handler Course
Criminal Reference Clearance
・Successful candidate must be able to pass a criminal reference clearance to the satisfaction of the City of Ottawa.
Language
Oral fluency, reading and writing ability in English
