Media are invited for a preview visit of Ottawa Public Health’s (OPH) new interim supervised injection services (SIS) located at 179 Clarence St.
On September 22, 2017, the Federal Minister of Health provided an exemption under Section 56.1 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act authorizing the operation of SIS on an interim basis by OPH at 179 Clarence Street in Ottawa. The SIS will be provided by Ottawa Public Health under the exemption provided to the Sandy Hill Community Health Centre.
Andrew Hendriks, Director of Health Protection at OPH, and harm reduction program employees will provide media access to the interim supervised injection services location scheduled to open to clients on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.
