Rain came pouring down in Ottawa for the first time in days on Wednesday, after Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Kanata, Ottawa North and Orléans.
The warning was issued just before 3 p.m. when the agency began tracking a severe storm south Arnprior that was heading eastward. The storm was capable of “producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.”
The storm comes along with a rapid drop in temperature that will end days of summery 30-degree weather.
Wednesday night’s low is expected to drop to just 10 C.
